After the deaths of two patients at Nanyuki Teaching and Referral Hospital, the county government of Laikipia has owned up to the mess.
County Executive Member of Health Ms Rose Maitai issued a statement concerning the incidents that led to the deaths of Halima Hassan and Jane Njoki at the facility indicating action has been taken.
The action was taken after the locals through social media platforms castigated the management of the hospital over allowing a birthday party to be held within the facility that serves more than 750 patients on a day.
Her statement detailed the interdiction of Phydelis Wachie Nabwoba and Clement Wambugu Kimani, a senior medical laboratory officer and laboratory technologists respectively in connection with the death of Halima on May 31.
"We have written to DCI to conduct investigations of any criminal liability for further action on the two for a possible legal action," said Maitai in a letter dated June 3.
