Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has warned against the opposition disunityity as clamouring for support for the united opposition.
He dismissed claims that the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK) was out to wreck the opposition; instead, he explained he was out to ensure they remained united ahead of the next year’s general election.
Speaking in Kiria ini market in Mathioya during a public engagement, Ndindi insisted of the need for the need for effective consolidation of votes, in efforts to defeat President William Ruto at the ballot.
“ The opposition must focus on identifying one presidential candidate and running mate to face Ruto, adding that he was ready to take up the presidential challenge if the coalition settled on him,” he said.
Ndindi hit at a section of the DCP for implicating the PPK with claims of undermining the opposition through its effective and independent political mobilisation drives.
He pleaded with the opposition leaders to focus on building consensus instead of engaging in name-calling and political divisions.
“ The PPK is mobilising support from different regions and channeling it towards a common opposition agenda focusing at winning the next general election,” he said.
He told his supporters from Mathioya and Kangema that in the election, consolidation of numbers remains a key pillar in winning the presidential contest.
“ It is high time that Kenyans scrutinised the leadership records of those seeking leadership, to ensure we have the best,” he said.
The lawmaker said the national economy was plunging into a drain owing to massive mismanagement of finances, which should be contained after the next election
