Can To Kids International which has constructed water tanks in various schools in Kiharu has entered into a pact with the county government to equip the polytechnics with the equipment to accelerate the learning.

Project coordinator Karanja Mburu Wamatangi said they have enough equipment for the institutions that the government will construct in the villages.

Already the organization has sent a team of volunteers led by Mr Ryan Macdonald to train the youth in various fields that include masonary, motor vehicle repairs, tailoring among others.

Ryan said they are focused to supply the equipment to all the institutions   Murang’a County Government will build.

“There is a need to prepare the youth for the intensive labour market that awaits them, that is why the organization is ready to partner and import the equipment,” said Ryan, a mechanic by profession.

During the function, Kiharu residents pushed for the split of the constituency saying it deserves as it had not been considered in the past.

There is a competition between constituencies of Gatanga and Kiharu which will benefit owing to their large populations.
